Grootste afstand gerend, geblinddoekt, in 24 uur!

Hej daar!

Deze December vind je in het Voluit Magazine, het magazine van het BartimeusFonds een interview met mij en mijn vrouw Emily over hoe het is om een blind dochtertje te hebben.

Dit is één van de vele dingen waarlangs we mijn Sahararun ook promoten. Een andere is de volgende: een Guinness World Record poging, namelijk de verste gerende afstand, blind, in 24 uur. Met het huidige record op 80km hoop ik dit record minstens te verdubbelen!

Maar, dit kan ik niet alleen. Daarom bij deze oproep, wie mee wil doen, om ons te komen helpen. We zoeken crewleden die bananen klaarleggen en ander materiaal, mensen instructies geven, een hele berg renners om mij te begeleiden tijdens de run maar ook getuigen die o.a. de afstanden noteren.

Wanneer we de planning maken en je indelen nemen ik en mijn eigen chef de mission, Sarina Versteeg, contact met je op om nogmaals te checken of je akkoord gaat met je indeling. Nu aanmelden is dus vrijblijvend, maar uiteraard hopen we dat je er bij bent. Helaas komt het record alleen op mijn naam te staan, maar ik hoop samen met jullie een heel mooi evenementje neer te zetten waar we allemaal veel plezier aan beleven. Zie ik je daar?

Howdy!

This month you find, in the Voluit Magazine, the magazine by the BartimeusFonds, an interview of me and my wife Emily on what it's like to have a blind daughter.

This interview is one of the many paths along which we are promoting my Sahara run. Another one if the following: a Guinness World Record atempt, namely longest distance run, in 24 hours, blind(folded). With the current record set at 80km I am hoping to at least double this distance!

But, I can't do this alone. Therefor this call to action, for those who are willing, to help us! We're looking for crewmembers to peel bananas, prepare other materials, instruct people, a whole pile of runners to guide me but also witnesses who write down distances per hour and other relevant details.

As soon as we're making the planning and put you in it we (myself and the chef the mission, Sarina Versteeg) will contact you to dubbelcheck whether you are still available. So, for now filling in the form is without any obligation, but of course we're hoping to see you at the attempt! Unfortunatly the record itself will be connected to one name, which is mine, but we're hoping to create a really fun and unique experience together with you all. Will I see you there?
